چکیده

Abstract This paper reports on the preparation and electrochemical performance of chitin- chitin-cellulose-based hydrogel electrolytes. The materials were prepared by a casting solution technique using ionic liquid-based solvents. method chitin dissolution in liquid with assistance dimethyl sulfoxide co-solvent was investigated. obtained membranes soaked 1-M lithium sulfate aqueous solution. preliminarily characterized terms structural physicochemical properties. Further, most promising biopolymer assembled activated carbon cloth electrodes symmetric capacitor cells. performances these devices studied 2-electrode system commonly known techniques, such as cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge/discharge, impedance spectroscopy. operated at maximum voltage 0.8 V. All investigated have shown high efficiency specific capacitance, power density, cyclability. capacitors exhibited capacitance values range 92–98 F g ?1 , excellent retention (ca. 97–98%) after 20,000 charge discharge cycles. Taking into account above information eco-friendly nature biopolymer, it appears that electrolytes can be components for green capacitors.

Injectable Amorphous Chitin-Agarose Composite Hydrogels for Biomedical Applications

Injectable hydrogels are gaining popularity as tissue engineering constructs because of their ease of handling and minimal invasive delivery. Making hydrogels from natural polymers helps to overcome biocompatibility issues. Here, we have developed an Amorphous Chitin (ACh)-Agarose (Agr) composite hydrogel using a simpletechnique. Rheological studies, such as viscoelastic behavior (elastic modul...

Dopamine-Mediated Sclerotization of Regenerated Chitin in Ionic Liquid

Chitin is a promising structural material for biomedical applications, due to its many advantageous properties and abundance in nature. However, its usage and development in the biomedical field have been stagnant, because of chitin's poor mechanical properties in wet conditions and the difficulties in transforming it into an applicable form. To overcome these challenges, we created a novel bio...

Ionic Liquid as Useful Media for Dissolution, Derivatization, and Nanomaterial Processing of Chitin

This paper reviews studies on dissolution, derivatization, and nanomaterial processing of chitin using an ionic liquid as useful media. Because chitin is the second most abundant polysaccharide on the earth after cellulose, there is major interest in conversion of native chitin resources into various useful materials after proper dissolution in suitable solvents. For the derivatization and nano...

Electrochemical Model for Ionic Liquid Electrolytes in Lithium Batteries

Room temperature ionic liquids are considered as potential electrolytes for high performance and safe lithium batteries due to their very low vapor pressure and relatively wide electrochemical and thermal stability windows. Unlike organic electrolytes, ionic liquid electrolytes are molten salts at room temperature with dissociated cations and anions. These dissociated ions interfere with the tr...

Formation of nematic ordered cellulose and chitin

We proposed in a previous paper a unique form of j3-glucan association, nematic ordered cellulose (NOC) that is molecularly ordered, yet non-crystalline. NOC has unique characteristics; in particular, its surface properties provide with a function of tracks or scaffolds for regulated movements and fiber-production or Acetobacter xylinum [Kondo et al. 2002. Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 99: 14008-1...
